It also known as a tool that can allow network from different location been securely connected in wide area network (WAN). By using a public secured network as the transport layer, it provides encrypting or encapsulating data to transmission over an unsecured network. VPN can vary widely from vendor to vendor in the different network. In the real world now, there has 2 kind of data communication which is public and private. Public network for example, public telephone system and internet, is freely connect to any site and share the information with others. Meanwhile, the terms of private here means, is owned and managed by an organization to share information among specific computer in the different network. The similarities between these 2 technologies are both provide the transportation for data to transmit within one node to another.
In recent years, organization is difficult to communicate between members of organization. As world of communication that consists of data transmission and shared information via internet become increased day per day, they need one solution to make all of the transmission and communication more reliable, secure and fast. Also, the communications include electronic mail and file sharing or file transfer. Its start with the communication in single site of organization called local area network (LAN). The data communication between nodes in this single organization needs to be preventing from unauthorized access. Confidential data in the organization become attractive for intruders from outside to steal it and this problem always happen in the recent years. To communicate to other members or organization in a public network, internet becomes the medium that use for the communication. But, in the recent years, from one single organization (LAN), want to access to the public network using the internet, it can’t give them any security guarantee. Thus, it can more widely open their organization to intruder’s attraction. That the major problem that faces by the organization before virtual private network been built by them.
